Events in Germany: Cheese Berlin, Tasting days, restaurant week and Masterclass
Several promotional events took place in Germany in November, between Berlin and Munich. These included Restaurant Week, at restaurants such as Enoteca Angolino, Bertolini Feinkost, Partenope, Facciola and Muntagnola. In-store promotions were also organised at Berlin’s historic covered market, the Markthalle, at the Mammafiore group, and at the stores of a long-standing partner of the project, Superissimo, in Munich.
Cheese Berlin, the leading trade fair for cheese enthusiasts in Germany, which attracts around 5,000 cheese lovers from all over the country every year, was held on Sunday 9 November. A Masterclass dedicated to food and wine journalists and professionals from Berlin’s restaurant industry was also held on the same day at the event space of Caffè Aedes in Berlin. After the masterclass, there was a special walk-around tasting involving some of the capital’s gourmet pizza chefs, who highlighted the properties of PDO products in the dish that best symbolises Italy around the world.
