The LoST Eu project in Piedmont was one of the protagonists of Terra Madre, the big event held in Turin from 26 to 30 September, offering two foodie weekends dedicated to masterclasses and tasting sessions for an international audience of trade professionals, operators from all over Italy and abroad, journalists, food bloggers and influencers, who had the opportunity to learn about the project and taste the eight LoSt Eu PDO products.
Guests included representatives from the Swedish food market, such as Tommy Haglund, head of quality products at one of the biggest shops of the ICA chain in Stockholm, with extensive experience in the food and cheese market; Malin Turunen, a prominent journalist and contributor to the most important food magazines in Sweden for over 20 years, as well as being head buyer for an import company and owning a food blog with over 100,000 individual visitors every month; and Amalia Gonzalez Stöckel, a food journalist who contributes to some of Sweden’s top food & wine magazines. The guests also took part in the Incoming programme held beforehand, from 24 to 26 September, in the areas of Piedmont where Roccaverano and Murazzano PDO cheeses are produced, discovering unique landscapes, such as the hills of Murazzano and the Asti Langhe of Roccaverano, cradle of age-old traditions, which risk becoming lost in the world of the global market. Immersed in the splendid landscapes of the Alta Langa, they visited the dairies and farms, met the producers in person and had the chance to observe the production of these cheeses, which are the pride of the Piedmont Region, first-hand.
